A QR code on its own only opens a link. QRakshak adds a privacy and emergency layer around the scan, so a stranger can help quickly without ever seeing the details that make a person unsafe.
Four pillars
Protection, journey, emergency, and the safety network behind every QR.
Protection
QRakshak is masked by default. A scanner sees a short display name and a category, not a phone number, medical note, or address. Full details open only when the owner allows them. Tokens are opaque, revocable, and sensitive fields are protected at rest.
Journey
The person who helps never installs anything. They scan with a normal camera and a browser page opens in seconds. Owners sign in with a 4-digit PIN instead of OTP or email, and all five categories run on a single engine.
Emergency
When it matters, QRakshak reaches people over more than one channel. Scan alerts fan out to family contacts through email and push, and a finder can call them through a masked call. The 112 option is a dial intent only, because 112 has no public result-tracking API.
Safety Network
Every QR carries at least two trusted contacts, and partners can run the same platform under their own brand. Scans and reveals are logged for audit, owners can revoke a QR or let it expire, and emergency help stays available even when a licence is inactive.
QRakshak and an ordinary QR code
The differences below are technical, not marketing. We compare the platform with a plain QR code, not with any named product.
Technical differences between QRakshak and an ordinary QR code
Capability
QRakshak
An ordinary QR code
What the scanner sees
A masked display name and category; the phone number stays hidden.
Whatever the link or the printed text happens to show.
Personal data
Masked PII by default, with owner-controlled reveal.
Often printed openly and valid forever.
Emergency escalation
Scan alerts reach family over email and push, with a masked call option.
No notification is sent to anyone.
Category forms
Purpose-built fields for vehicle, child, elderly, woman, and luggage.
One generic link for every situation.
Token control
Opaque, revocable, and able to expire.
Static, copyable, and reusable.
Access logging
Every scan and reveal is written to an audit log.
No record of who scanned the code.
Helper requirement
Camera and browser; no app and no login.
Camera and browser; no app and no login.
Important limitations
We would rather set the right expectation than sell a guarantee we cannot keep.
QRakshak is an emergency assistance aid, not an emergency response service. It is not a government system, and it does not guarantee that help will reach in time. Alerts are delivered on a best-effort basis through third-party channels, and network or device failures can delay them.
The 112 option opens the phone dialler only. QRakshak does not connect to 112, does not track the call, and does not receive its result. In a life-threatening emergency, call 112 or your local emergency number immediately.
